When?

Our next trip is going to be January 25-February 1, 2009. We skipped 2008 because of the Ships and Dips Cruises.

Where? South Lake Tahoe

Location Information

Now that we’re in South Late Tahoe, the biggest, bestest, closest place to ski will be Heavenly Mountain Resort. It may be a little pricy, lift ticket wise, but the amenities will be awesome!

North Lake Tahoe Hangouts

If we do want to drive to North Lake Tahoe, we have some of my favorites (but it’s probably a 30-60 min drive)

Off the top of my head, here are my favorite places, and their lift ticket prices.

Budget

Some generic budget information for us financially conscious types.

Airfare

Flights to reno are under $300 for Dallas, Austin, and Atlanta. Once we get closer to D-Day, I’ll setup travelocity to e-mail fare changes.

Rental Car

It’s looking like $300 /week for a Subaru 4wd, or $600/week for a Yukon. These prices are from Hertz — which is probably the most expensive vendor.

Lift Tickets / Rentals

Anywhere from $25-85/day depending on location / rentals

Summary

Grub / Beer $30/day,7 days?	$210
Total	$1035

So — let’s assume everything at it’s worst here. That way we can get a valid worst case budget:

So, assuming we start saving in January 2008, to save up $1035, we’d need to put aside $86/month.
